Interpreting & Managing Test Results

Professional analysis is vital to the efficacy of any drug testing program, and New Era takes care to check and re-check the accuracy of every alcohol and drug test result. In the event of a positive laboratory test result, the lab’s physicians will contact the employee to determine if there is a legitimate medical reason for the positive result (such as taking prescription medications). If no legitimate reason can be found, the employer is then contacted with the test results.

Confronting an employee about a positive drug or alcohol test can be difficult, but having a drug free workplace policy – including the types of tests employees will be required to take, drug testing frequency, and written consequences of a positive test results – in place can help make the process easier. Because different states have different laws concerning treatment, termination, and probation of offending employees, New Era Drug Testing recommends contacting one of our compliance officers to help develop your organization’s drug free workplace program.

We are here to help you through the process of maintaining a successful drug and alcohol testing program, including pre-screening all lab facilities to ensure quality and accuracy. If you have any questions regarding laboratory drug testing, call us at 1-800-801-0966
